Citizens Initiative for saving water bodies in Hyderabad

Soul Conveners

SOUL is a non- funded and non - registered network based on voluntary and collective effort of the members. It works informally through a group of Coordinators and Convener that emerge through active participation in network activities. Convener's position is held for a period of one year to ensure rotation and project SOUL as a collective venture.

Dr.Lubna Sarwath (June 2013 - June 2014)
Dr. Lubna Sarwath is an economist and activist. She is a Visiting Lecturer at Trisakti University, Jakarta. She is on the Editorial Board for International Journal of Technology and Business Management, Hyderabad and Editorial Assistant-cum-Reviewer for an International Refereed Journal, Humanomics, UK. She has been nominated Patron by Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society, Kuwait. She is the founder-secretary of Shausaa’ Foundation and Director for POINTE (Platform for Occidental, oriental and Islamic Networking in Teaching and studying Economics), at Hyderabad, India.

Apart from doctorate in economics She holds Certificate in Political Leadership for Women ‘India Women in Leadership (iWIL)’ from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B).She has an MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. She obtained CAIIB from Indian Institute of Bankers and has an Advanced Diploma in Modern Arabic from EFLU, Hyderabad. Other areas of study include Diploma in Journalism and Media Utilization Course.

Thakur Rajkumar singh ( June 2012 - June 2013 )
Thakur Rajkumar singh is a Rights Activist with a Masters Degree in Arts - Public & Personnel Management from Osmania University. He has been an educationist by profession since 1993 to 2007. He is a founder member of Human Rights & Consumer Protection Cell (BMRWS) a registered NGO which was formed in the year 2004. The NGO has been actively involved in Protection of Human Rights, Consumer Protection, Anti-Corruption extensively using the RTI tool. Since the formation of the SOUL, he has been atracted in protection of environment more particularly Water Bodies. He has good knowlege in application of Law and filing of complaints for effective solutions. Known to be taking issues headon and aggressive in approach.

Y.Panasa Rama Krishna (June 2011 - June 2012 )
Mr. Panasa Rama Krishna Y is an IT employee who has been involved in social activities and he got involved with the empowerment of citizens on RTI with his friends through It’s Time to Make a Difference (ITMD) group. The group brought together several IT employees and public spirited citizens to work together to ensure trustworthy governance, correction of mistakes and remedy wrong practices in the system. With his passion and love towards environment he started focusing on the issues which are damaging our ECO System. He completed B.Tech from GITAM University and finished his M.A from Andhra University.

Jasveen Jairath is a water sector professional with a background in engineering and economics. Her professional work has focussed on the political economy of water with particular reference to equity and access to water by the socially deprived communities.
